Jaipur: The city police dismantled a human trafficking racket involved in selling minor girls to a local NGO in Bassi into forced marriages.
The NGO's director allegedly forged documents to misrepresent the girls as adults, facilitating illegal marriages for a hefty amount. Police have arrested four individuals, including the director of the NGO.
The operation came to light when a minor girl escaped and reported her ordeal to the police, revealing she had been sold to the NGO for Rs 2.5 lakh.
Acting on her information, police conducted a raid on the NGO premises Monday morning.
