Youth killed in Karnataka's Bhadravati after cricket match dispute turns violent

SHIVAMOGGA: A verbal duel during a cricket match led to the killing of a youth in Bhadravati on Monday night.
A 23-year-old, Arun, lost his life following a dispute that began during a cricket match.

The initial confrontation took place between Arun and others at Akkamahadevi School ground, according to the police.

The situation intensified during a party in Keshavpura, leading to a violent altercation that resulted in Arun's death, police said. The incident was subsequently reported at Hosamane police station.

Shivamogga Superintendent of Police Mithun Kumar confirmed that five to six individuals were involved in the incident. The authorities took five persons into custody for interrogation.
