On this Bicycle Day, actor Karthik Jayaram shares how cycling has become an integral part of his lifestyle, helping him stay fit and punctual amidst his schedule.

Known for his roles in Siya Ke Ram and O Pushpa I Hate Tears, Karthik often opts for his bicycle over other vehicles. "Most of the time when I'm running late or have a long day scheduled, I try to reach my sets cycling. It helps me get to work on time; also, when I can't do gym, cycling helps me with basic exercise, and I feel energetic and healthy. Just on a sunny day, I avoid it. When I'm at home, I enjoy cycling. I own a cycle, a bike, and a car, but I prefer cycling."

Currently in Hyderabad shooting for regional cinema, Karthik is also exploring opportunities in Hindi films and OTT series. He adds, "Since childhood, I guess when I was 8 or 9, I started cycling. I'm fond of it. I enjoy staying physically active, be it playing sports. I professionally play cricket. I'm also very much into swimming and other sports. Hence, I chose acting as a profession. I'm not a man who can sit in an office and work from morning to evening. I have worked in corporate as a structural engineer, but acting gives me more happiness, so I chose this."

He believes cycling is not only beneficial for personal health but also for the environment. "I feel cycling is a good way to stay fit and keep the environment healthy. It creates no unnecessary pollution. I feel if for basic needs we use cycles, we will see a positive change around us."
