Google has announced the second edition of its Google for Startups Accelerator : Apps programme, aimed at empowering 20 promising Indian startups specialising in AI-powered mobile applications . Supported by Google Play , the initiative seeks to equip app-based ventures with cutting-edge AI tools, expert mentorship, and tailored guidance to scale their products effectively.
"The startup ecosystem in India has always been a source of huge motivation and excitement for us at Google Play and we’re looking forward to accelerating the next class of AI powered app based startups in India. The program enables startups with an AI, business and a commercial toolkit which they can use to deploy at scale and hopefully grow as they go along,” said Paula Wang, managing director, APAC partnerships, Google Play.
The three-month programme is open to Indian startups that are funded between Seed and Series-A stages and have a published app on the Google Play Store. Selected startups will benefit from personalised mentorship sessions, collaborative learning opportunities, and access to Google's latest AI advancements. The programme also offers bespoke reports to optimise app performance and enhance user engagement.
Google highlighted the success of the inaugural cohort, which saw significant progress in technology, design, and user engagement. The second cohort will focus heavily on AI integration, recognising its pivotal role in shaping the future of app development. Applications are open until May 15, 2025, with the programme set to begin in July with an immersive bootcamp.
