NEW DELHI: AAP leader Atishi is expected to be sworn in as Delhi chief minister at Raj Niwas on Saturday evening after President Droupadi Murmu appointed her as CM of NCT Delhi, reports news agency ANI citing official sources.
The President also cleared appointment of five minister and also accepted Kejriwal's resignation, as per the officials. The party announced the new council of ministers, which includes Gopal Rai, Kailash Gahlot, Saurabh Bharadwaj, Imran Hussain, and newcomer Mukesh Ahlawat, who is a first-time MLA from Sultanpur Majra.
The exact timing of the oath-taking ceremony is yet to be confirmed. However, AAP sources suggest that the ceremony might take place around 4.30 pm on Saturday.
An AAP leader also mentioned that the the swearing-in ceremony is expected to be a low-key event due to Kejriwal's resignation and the delay in approvals, leaving limited time for preparations.
