Kisan Mahapanchayat in Pipli decides to raise questions to BJP, Congress leaders, block rail nation-wide on October 3

KURUKSHETRA: The Kisan Mahapanchayat held in Kurukshetra’s Pipli grain market by Kisan Mazdoor Morcha (KMM) and Sanyukt Kisan Morcha Non-Political (SKM NP) have decided to peacefully raise questions to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Congress leaders. If the BJP or Congress leaders do not answer the questions raised by farmers, then their videos will be recorded and made viral on social media, according to the farmers’ gathering.

The farmers have also given a call to block railway tracks nationwide for two hours from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm on October 3, demanding punishment for the culprits of the Lakhimpur Kheri incident in which several farmers were crushed to death under vehicles in Uttar Pradesh (UP).

Farmers from Punjab, Haryana , Rajasthan, UP, Uttarakhand, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat reportedly participated in Sunday gatherings of KMM and SKM NP at Pipli on Sunday.

Several farm leaders addressed the gathering and spoke about “BJP’s anti-farmer and pro-corporate policies.” The speakers also appealed to the people of Haryana to think wisely before voting in the upcoming state assembly elections about what the incumbent government has done with regards to the farmers in the last 10 years..

Remembering the farmer Shubhkaran Singh, who was allegedly shot dead on Khanauri border, the farm leaders said, “The true tribute to Shubhkaran Singh will only be paid if BJP is made to lose with large numbers.”

Pritpal Singh, who was allegedly beaten and taken up by Haryana police during the farmers’ protest also reached the gathering at Pipli with his family.

BKU Shaheed Bhagat Singh president Amarjit Singh Mohri said, “BJP government has pulled off its hands from crop insurance scheme, the stray cattle are damaging our crops. There should be a permanent solution to the problem of stray cattle.”

The farm leaders said a question should be raised to Congress leaders that if they come to power, will they open Khanauri and Shambhu borders to allow the farmers to move to Delhi to protest for their pending demands.

Notably, farmers under the banner KMM and SKM NP have been protesting at Haryana borders at Shambhu and Khanauri since February 13 and it has been over 220 days since they are sitting with demands like law guaranteeing minimum support price and others.

Farm leaders Sarvan Singh Pandher, Jagjit Singh Dallewal, Manjit Singh Rai, Jaswinder Singh Longowal, Surjit Singh Phool, Ranjit Singh, Raju, Ashok Bulara, Mahavir Gujjar, Guramneet Singh Mangat, Abhimanyu Kohar, Dilbagh Singh Gill, Sifat Khan Mewati, Anil Kharari, Gurpreet Singh Sangha, Bibi Sukhwinder Kaur, Malkit Singh, Sukhjit Singh Hardojhande addressed the farmers.
