NEW DELHI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday lauded security forces for the success of multiple strikes on terror facilities inside Pakistan and POK, saying that the country was "proud" of them, while emphasising the need to be prepared for further security challenges.
"It is only the beginning," sources quoted PM as saying at the Cabinet meet. " This operation was necessary as the entire nation was looking towards us," Modi is learnt to have said. He was speaking after defence minister Rajnath Singh briefed the Cabinet about the precise targeting of terror camps. As ministers thumped desks, Modi struck a note of caution, stressing the need for continuing preparedness.
Modi, sources said, also hailed the forces for ensuring there were no collateral civilian losses. "In this respect, it was a unique operation ," the sources quoted the PM as saying. Modi also suggested that ministers avoid making unnecessary "political comments".
