Mark Robinson self-proclaimed " black NAZI ," North Carolina ’s Lieutenant Governor and Republican candidate for governor made a series of inflammatory comments over a decade ago on a pornography website's message board.

According to a CNN KFile investigation, he referred to himself as a "black NAZI" and expressed support for reinstating slavery.

These comments, posted under the username "minisoldr" on the forum "Nude Africa," unveil a disturbing pattern that starkly contrasts with his public image as a socially conservative politician.

  • Self-Identification as a "Black Nazi": Robinson referred to himself as a “black NAZI!” in his posts, raising significant concerns about his views on race and identity. In March 2012, Robinson expressed a preference for Adolf Hitler over the leadership in Washington during Barack Obama's administration, stating, “I’d take Hitler over any of the sh*t that’s in Washington right now!” His comments on Nude Africa were often laced with derogatory and racial slurs targeting Black, Jewish, and Muslim individuals.
  • “White supremacist”: If elected, Robinson would make history as North Carolina’s first Black governor, yet he has repeatedly disparaged civil rights leader Martin Luther King Jr. His comments were so extreme that one user accused him of harboring white supremacist views. “Get that f*cking commie bastard off the National Mall!” he wrote in response to the dedication of King’s memorial in Washington, D.C., by then-President Barack Obama. Robinson added, “I’m not in the KKK. They don’t let Blacks join. If I were in the KKK, I would have called him Martin Lucifer Koon!”
  • Confessions of Voyeurism: Mark Robinson shared graphic details about his sexual arousal stemming from memory of secretly watching women in public gym showers as a teenager. He recounted this experience with a sense of nostalgia, stating, “I came to a spot that was a dead end but had two big vent covers over it! It just so happened it overlooked the showers! I sat there for about an hour and watched as several girls came in and showered.” Robinson described this incident as a memory he still fantasized about, indicating a troubling fixation on the event.
  • Support for Slavery: He expressed a desire to reinstate slavery, stating, “Slavery is not bad. Some people need to be slaves. I wish they would bring it back. I would certainly buy a few.” Such comments starkly contrast with contemporary values and the ongoing fight for racial equality.
  • Enjoyment of Transgender Pornography: In contradiction to his public anti-transgender rhetoric, he admitted to enjoying transgender pornography, stating, “I like watching tranny on girl porn! That’s f*cking hot! It takes the man out while leaving the man in!” Robinson wrote. “And yeah I’m a ‘perv’ too!”
  • Trivializing Abortion: In a December 2010 comment on Nude Africa, Robinson showed a starkly different attitude than his now stance, stating, “I don’t care. I just wanna see the sex tape!” in response to a discussion about a celebrity's abortion. While campaigning for lieutenant governor in 2020, Robinson pushed for a total abortion ban without exceptions.
  • Derogatory Remarks About Rape Victims: In response to a story about a woman who claimed to be raped, he stated, “and the moral of this story….. Don’t f**k a white b*tch!” showcasing a blatant disregard for victims of sexual violence.
  • Contempt for LGBTQ+ Community: His comments have included derogatory language towards LGBTQ+ individuals, labeling their identities as “filth.” Robinson has publicly maintained that individuals should only use bathrooms that align with their assigned gender at birth, advocating for strict measures against transgender women using women’s restrooms.
  • Hypocrisy on Abortion Views: Despite advocating for strict abortion bans without exceptions, Robinson has admitted to personally paying for an abortion for his wife in the 1980s. Now running for governor, he supports a “heartbeat” bill that would prohibit abortions once a heartbeat is detected—around six weeks—allowing exceptions only for rape, incest, and the mother’s health
  • Mocking School Shooting Survivors: He has faced backlash for mocking survivors of school shootings, reflecting insensitivity towards trauma and loss in society.
  • Robinson has firmly rejected the allegations from CNN, dismissing them as ‘tabloid trash’ and asserting that they do not represent his character or beliefs.

As Robinson pursues his gubernatorial campaign, these troubling comments could greatly influence voter perception and support in North Carolina’s political arena. The growing scrutiny of his past statements raises serious concerns about his fitness for office and the potential consequences of his rhetoric on broader societal issues.
