'Peace in Middle East': Donald Trump pushes Abraham Accords; says Iran's nuke arsenal 'obliterated'

Send Push
US President Donald Trump on Thursday called for all Middle Eastern countries to join the Abraham Accords , describing it as a crucial step to ensure lasting peace in the region. In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran’s nuclear arsenal, which he described as being “created,” has been “totally obliterated.”

Trump’s statement highlights the Abraham Accords, a series of normalization agreements signed in 2020 between Israel and several Arab nations including the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco. The accords, aimed at fostering cooperation and peace in the Middle East, are widely regarded as one of the biggest foreign policy milestones of Trump’s first term as President.

He urged that expanding the Accords to include all countries in the region would help “insure PEACE IN THE MIDDLE EAST.”

Claims on Iran’s nuclear arsenal

Trump’s assertion about the obliteration of Iran’s nuclear capabilities comes amid ongoing tensions surrounding Tehran’s nuclear programme. However, no independent or official verification of this claim has been made public. International agencies, including the international atomic energy agency (IAEA), continue to monitor Iran’s nuclear activities closely.

Calls for peace amid ongoing regional challenges

The Middle East continues to face complex geopolitical challenges, including conflicts, security concerns, and nuclear proliferation fears. The Abraham Accords have been seen by many analysts as a step toward dialogue and de-escalation, though a comprehensive peace framework remains elusive.

Trump’s renewed call for broader participation in the Accords underscores ongoing US interest in shaping the diplomatic landscape of the region.
