Ian Wright goes on X-rated Arsenal rant and tells Erling Haaland straight after Man City incidents

Ian Wright has held absolutely nothing back when delivering his thoughts on Arsenal's chaotic clash against Manchester City. The Gunners were denied a historic victory at Etihad Stadium when John Stones levelled the game in the final minutes.

First-half goals from Riccardo Calafiori and Gabriel Magalhaes saw Arsenal come from behind to lead after Erling Haaland's opener. A near perfect 45 minutes was then significantly derailed when Leandro Trossard was shown a second yellow card and thus sent off for delaying the restart.

Mikel Arteta then chose to replace Bukayo Saka with Ben White in preparation for the onslaught awaiting his players in the second period. Despite mostly limiting the hosts to long-range strikes, Stones turned home a penalty box scramble in the final seconds, with Haaland celebrating by throwing the ball at the back of Gabriel's head.

The City striker was also involved in a clash after the final whistle, with his feelings on Mikel Arteta, Myles Lewis-Skelly and Gabriel Jesus made perfectly clear. With the Trossard incident and pretty much everything Haaland did as the two huge talking points coming out of the game, Wright has delivered an honest verdict on both.

Speaking to his Instagram, he said: “The Trossard sending off, it’s f*cking foolishness what they’re getting sent off for now, but you know what really boiled me up properly? Haaland’s coward move — throwing the ball at Gabi’s head when he’s not looking. Gabi would look you in the eye.”

Though Wright is right to be angered by Haaland's conduct, he is unlikely to face any retrospective action. Trossard, on the other hand, is set serve a one-match ban and despite being sent off in the Premier League, he will not miss this weekend's clash against Leicester.

That is because Arsenal first take on Bolton in Carabao Cup action at Emirates Stadium on Wednesday, September, 25 with Trossard to miss that game instead. A number of debuts are expected to be handed out in the clash with summer loan signing Neto to replace David Raya, with Sterling likely to receive his first Arsenal star since sealing a temporary move from Chelsea.
